When you mention the word broccoli to kids, the initial reaction that you get is the word “Yuck” or a wrinkly nose. We all know that veggies, especially broccoli, are good for them – but that does not mean that they would like the taste.
If you want to get the next best thing to feed your kids, try incorporating broccoli sprouts in your salads or as a side dish. Broccoli sprouts even better health nutrients than the dark green broccoli and they taste a whole lot better.
These days-old sprouts contain a chemical called SGS or Sulforaphane Glucosinolate which provides a lot of health benefit. They are good for cancer prevention, they lower your cholesterol level and they help protect your eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays.
This member of the cabbage family has such an enormous potential in the prevention of cancer and removal or reduction of cancer cells which is why a lot of research has been done on the subject. These show that SGS does help to detoxify the carcinogens in the human body while providing antioxidant effects.
