Even though eating a half a grapefruit or drinking a glass of grapefruit juice with each meal is a good way to get your three daily servings of fruit, following the grapefruit diet menu may not be a good idea.
The grapefruit diet menu calls for eating only a ridiculous amount of calories (800 calories) a day total. This is not something that can be done for long nor is it healthy.
However, some do have an initial success with the grapefruit diet menu due to the fact that calorie intake is so low. But usually this type of diet leads to rebound weight gain.
The grapefruit diet menu is as follows:
Breakfast
• 1/2 grapefruit OR 8 oz. of unsweetened grapefruit juice
• 2 eggs prepared any way you like
• 2 slices of bacon
Lunch
• 1/2 grapefruit OR 8 oz. of unsweetened grapefruit juice
• Meat any kind and any amount.
• Salad.
Dinner

• Meat or Fish any kind cooked any way.

• 1 cup of coffee or tea.
